Due to the overwhelming interest in my most recent painting, ‘Liminal’, I have decided to open a waitlist for subsequent kelp paintings.

Creating this painting was a breakthrough moment for me, as I felt I was able to meet my goal of highlighting the beautiful life within the tidal regions of the California Coastlines. The title, ‘Liminal’ came from a feeling of wanting to connect people to the ecosystems that exist beneath the water’s surface. This painting serves as a meeting place for two very different worlds. Painting this miraculous plant provides me with endless fascination. The movement, color, and texture of the kelp is what drew me in to create this piece, and it is a subject that I am excited to continue exploring through paint.

I am honored that so many people found a real connection with this piece. That speaks to our ability to stop and savor familiar moments that might be otherwise overlooked.
